Spring Ridge Baptist Church on Hwy. 175 just south of Pleasant Hill will host an Old-Fashioned Hymn Sing on Saturday, July 25, from 6 until 8 p.m. The evening will feature two leading Gospel Singing Convention pianists, Lane Brown of Haughton, LA and John Will Martin of Birmingham, AL. Also appearing are special guests The Roberson Family of Teneha, TX.
The Roberson Family is comprised of Timothy and Nicole Roberson, and their children - Julia, Cline and Ella, who won The Singing News 2025 Talent Search Award for Best Group and were recognized twice in a recent issue of the magazine.
Known for powerful harmonies and heartfelt performances, the Robersons bring a message that inspires audiences of all ages. Their repertoire spans from beloved traditional hymns to uplifting modern worship, all centered on glorifying God.
The group appeared at the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN, and a new album, God of Today, was released in mid-February of this year to good reviews.
During the evening, past National Gospel Singing Convention president Susan Bollman will help lead the old-fashioned congregational hymns along with several area song leaders and musical talents.
The first part of the service will be “round robin” style song-leading of old hymns by various participants. After a special presentation by the Roberson Family, hymn selections in the second part of the service will be made up of requests by the audience.
Pastor Bobby Russell and the church invite everyone to “come enjoy the old songs of the church” on this special night of sacred music.
The Hymn Sing will end before sunset. Attendees will not have to drive home after dark.
