A weekend of tradition, community, and cultural celebration comes to life in Sabine Parish as the Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb prepares to host its 33rd Annual Pow Wow on April 23–25, 2026, at the Choctaw Apache Tribal Grounds, located at 217 Gene Knight Road in Noble, Louisiana.

The annual gathering brings together tribal members, visitors, and guests from across the region to honor Native American heritage through dance, music, food, and fellowship. The event offers a unique opportunity for attendees to experience living traditions that have been passed down through generations.

Festivities will begin Thursday, April 23, with a Native American Mass at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at 6:00 p.m., followed by a community cover dish social.

Friday’s schedule will focus on educational outreach, as students from local schools visit the grounds to take part in demonstrations and interactive cultural experiences. The day will include a dance exhibition and conclude with an evening gourd dance from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The full experience will take place Saturday, April 25, featuring a day filled with dancing, special recognitions, and contests. Highlights include the Grand Entry at 1:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m., and special performances throughout the day, ending with closing ceremonies at 9:00 p.m.

Representing more than 7,000 members, the Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb continues to play an important role in preserving the history and cultural identity of Native families in western Sabine Parish, including the communities of Converse, Ebarb, Noble, Zwolle, Blue Lake, and Grady Hill.

The Pow Wow is free and open to the public, and all are invited to attend. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of traditional foods, handmade crafts, and cultural presentations in a welcoming, family-oriented setting. The event is drug and alcohol free.
