Children across the parish are escaping the heat by staying inside and listening to stories. They’re participating in the 1000 Books before Kindergarten reading initiative at the Sabine Parish Library. Listening to stories and earning prizes is great! Completing 100 books was Harper Rhodes, daughter of Channing and Alana Rhodes. Completing 500 books were Joseph Goff, grandson of Elizabeth Pickett; Maisyn Jett, daughter of Chris and Sarah Jett; Cadence Henson, daughter of Julie Ducote; and Jeryn Palmer, daughter of Allie Palmer.
