The Fort Jesup Society C.A.R. (Children of the American Revolution) is once again remembering local veterans through Wreaths Across America (WAA). Last year the group was able to place over 70 wreaths at veteran gravesites in local cemeteries and honored living veterans in nursing homes in Many with a wreath for their door during the holiday season. This year we plan to honor veterans at the Toledo Nursing Home in Zwolle as well as those in the nursing homes in Many with wreaths and place more wreaths on veterans’ gravesites.
We are excited to announce that St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery is now an official WAA Location, meaning wreaths will be delivered directly to the cemetery.
Wreaths must be ordered by November 28th to guarantee delivery by December 17th.
There are two different ways to sponsor wreaths and pay: Order from the Fort Jesup Society C.A.R. website - https://www. wreathsacrossamerica. org/la0088 - pay with your credit card or Pay-Pal. You can also choose “Grave Specific” to let us know your veteran’s name and cemetery location. If it is not at St. John’s, Fort Jesup, or Many you will need to pick up your wreath on December 17th after the 10 a.m. ceremony.
Make your check payable to the Fort Jesup C.A.R. and note your veteran’s name and cemetery and mail it to Mary Beth Tarver, ATTN: Fort Jesup C.A.R., 852 Hwy 3118, Many, LA 71449.
An official Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held Saturday, December 17th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Many, beginning at 10:00 a.m. We hope you will be able to join us and to remember and honor our local veterans.
