The Many Bass Club’s September Tournament of 2022 took place on the weekend of September 10 on Toledo Bend. The weather was moderate with lows finally in the upper sixties and highs in the eighties. Skies were cloudy on Saturday with light to moderate winds, and Sunday started with a foggy morning giving way to partly sunny conditions. The water temperatures were cooled down slightly to the lower eighties. As in August, the fishing continued to be tough for the Club’s anglers. Only three limits of five fish were weighed in by the thirteen-angler field, and there was only one limit that weighed in excess of ten pounds. Fish were caught on both shallow and deep patterns on various baits.
Gary West was the winning angler with a five fish limit that weighed 10.89 pounds. Gary caught his fish Sunday in mid-depths on green pumpkin soft plastics in the mid-lake area. Gary Moore placed second with a five fish limit that weighed 9.88 pounds. Gary fished Saturday and caught his fish around shallow cover on soft plastics and buzz-baits in one to eight feet of water in the mid-lake area. Lee Ballard was the thirdplace angler with a five fish stringer that weighed 8.11 pounds. Lee caught his fish on Saturday in shallow water on soft plastics, also in the midlake area. Chris Parker caught the tournament’s largest fish on Saturday which weighed 4.4 pounds.
Gary West continues to lead the Club’s Top Six contest with 96.49 points. Glen Swihart holds on to second place with 87.45 points. George Herr is in third place with 70.7 points, followed by Michael Woods with 68.67 points, James Edwards with 64.87 points and Lee Ballard with 63.25 points.
Congratulations to the September winners.
