Gwen Garcie was born November 30, 1946, to the late Cleve and Theresa Kezerle Sepulvado. She is the oldest of seven children with four sisters and two brothers. Gwen attended Ebarb High School where she graduated as the Valedictorian of the class of 1964. After graduation, she furthered her education at CLTCC in the field of Business Office Administration. Gwen was employed at Sabine Medical Center for 42 years. She worked in Admissions, Billing, Medical Records and after 20 plus years as the Business Office Manager, she retired in 2012.

Gwen married Paul David Garcie on June 4, 1966. They have four children: daughter, Anna and her husband, Mike, and sons, Russell, Phillip, and Joel and his wife, Avery. Gwen and David have been blessed with nine grandchildren, Lindsay, Gabriel, Jacolby, Caroline, Naomi, Cooper, Camden, Reid, and Carsyn. They also have one great granddaughter, Carmen. Gwen and her family attend St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle where she has been involved with the Council of Catholic Women and the RCIA team. She enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. Gwen is honored to have been chosen as the First Lady of the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta and looks forward to the celebration of our Indigenous and Spanish heritage in this 46th year of the festival.
