God is worthy of your worship because God’s will brought all things into existence. God made the decision to create ALL things and to have ALL things exist. I believe that God is worthy of worship because He created you and me and He decided for us to exist. He is ruling, exerting His authority, He sustains the world and creation. If we are not interested in giving glory, honor, and thanks to the Lord who sits on the throne while on the earth, what makes you and I believe that we will be in heaven where this is all that happens day and night? If you and I are unwilling to choose worshiping God now, why do you think we will be in heaven where every created being worships Him?

Praises like “Revelations 4:8 “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is to come.” The book of Revelations was written by the Apostle John while he was exiled on the island of Patmos. Its daunting but beautiful book of the Bible tells the end of God’s divine plan, climaxing in the judgment of the wicked, victory over Satan, restoration of creation and the reunion of God and His people. In His grace He has seen fit to reveal to us His sovereign purpose and plan for all creation. From the first chapter of Genesis to the final verse in Revelation 22. As Revelation ends with a warning to anyone who seeks to add to this final chapter of divine revelation.

As we learn and read about the Lord we should keep in mind His holiness. The attribute of His holiness that is emphasized in Revelations is not His sinlessness, but the emphasis is on His authority and power. When His holiness is described, His power is described with it. In Isaiah we see almost the same refrain “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts.” We also find His holiness and power in the verses of Psalms 99:1-9. “The Lord reigns; let the people tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubin; let the earthquake….” Notice that the lord is enthroned and is exalted over all the people. He establishes equity and executes justice. We must exalt Him and worship Him for He is holy.

In Revelation 4:9 we see the four living creatures are worshiping the Lord as they exclaim the infinite holiness of God. They are giving glory, honor, thanks to the one who is seated on the throne. God is not like us His ways are not our ways. His power is not our power, and His authority is not our authority. He does not think like us. Can you visualize this scene? Can you hear the repetition? A triple repetition signifies a total call to our attention! Think about all the characteristics of the lord that could have been used, love, love, love or mercy, mercy, mercy, but holiness is used. If God created All things, then All things belong to Him! All things are in subjection to Him. This is a very simple and logical thought. ALL people must worship Him because He created All people.

We know that the angels praise Him day and night do we have any less to praise Him or thank Him for? A quote from Spurgeon (Holy Song from Happy Saints) “Do we sing as much as the birds do? What do the birds have to sing about, compared to us? Do we sing as much as the angels do? They have never been redeemed by the blood of Christ. Birds of the air, shall you excel me? Angels, shall you exceed me? You have done so, but I intend to emulate you, and day by day, and night by night, pour forth my soul in sacred song.”
