On the evening of January 6, a vehicle driven by an unidentified male left Highway 171 and struck the Texaco located close to Pizza Hut, leaving massive damage to the store and one employee, identified as Macala Henderson, injured.

According to available information, the driver left the roadway on Highway 171 after a diabetic emergency, with his vehicle crashing through the glass entrance of Texaco, continuing through the store and through a rear area where the drive-thru window was located.

Henderson was airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center and placed in ICU with numerous injuries and what looks like a long road to recovery.

Another employee escaped injury, reportedly.

Law enforcement is currently conducting an investigation and more information will be added as it becomes available.

The family asks for prayer in this trying time.
