It was all out war on Thursday, October 24 when the threat of extreme weather forced an early showdown between the Tigers of Many and Winnfield, which our local team won 34-33.

That makes five huge road wins for the Many Tigers, all of which were district games and have them ranked second in the state when it comes to 2-A teams. Next on their plate are two home games, then the playoffs, and hopefully the Super Dome.

“To all the people that buried the Many Tigers after the first couple weeks….Big mistake,” Coach Jess Curtis wrote on Twitter over the weekend. “We are back! Keep grinding boys!”

To start the game, Winnfield deferred to the second half, and Many took the ball at the 33 yard line. Quarterback “Cadillac” Rhone handed off to Terrence Williams for a one yard loss, but on second and 11 he got into Winnfield territory on a great pass for a new set of downs. On an ensuing third and 1 play, Shamarion Wiseman took it down to the 32-yard line of Winnfield basically untouched. Cadillac followed it up with a pass to Carson Comeaux to get to the five yard line before a toss to Wiseman on the right-hand side put Many up 7-0 on their first possession of the game.
