Late score lifts Blackcats over Indians

A Thursday, March 29 game turned out poorly for the Negreet Indians, as they lost to the Florien Blackcats 15-12 after a valiant fight.

The game was tied at 12 when Florien’s Hayden Tidwell singled on a 3-2 count to score one run in the top of the sixth.

The Blackcats got their offense started in the first when Frank Chesson doubled and scored one run.

After Florien scored four in the top of the third, the Indians came back with four of their own.  The cats scored when Jaylen Knippers singled and scored one run, Hunter Ford doubled and scored one, and J.B. Remedies doubled to score again.  Scoring for the Indians were Dillon Snider, Jackson Davis, Jacob Hippler, and Gabriel Gross.

The Indians put up six runs in the fifth inning via a single by Brayden McMillian, a home run by Davis, and double courtesy of Snider.

Gross was given the loss for the Indians, while Florien’s #4 got the win.  He allowed five hits and four runs, walking nobody. Alijah Remedies entered as his relief.

The Indians racked up 12 hits with Davis, Clayton Crow, Jaydn Lehr, and McMillian getting multiple hits.  Davis led the Indians, going three-for-four, while Crow managed three of the team’s nine stolen bases.

Florien also had an impressive 15 hits on their way to victory thanks to Chesson, Ford, Brennan Jones, J.B. Remedies, and Colby Matthews.Florien stole eight bases during the game with two players stealing more than one.  Florien committed no errors.
