A crash at 2:49 a.m. on August 13 claimed the life of Robert Wates, Jr., of Converse.
According to Sabine Parish Assistant Coroner Ron Rivers, the driver and only occupant of the 1999 Ford truck in question was southbound on Highway 191 just south of Fisherman’s Wharf Road was negotiating a left hand curve at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway.
