Local resident Lisa Butler does not appreciate the vandalism to Monk Cemetery, which is located off of Lone Star Road. She was told by neighbors that two or three people in the community cut several huge cedar trees down in the past, but they have rested on the ground amongst the graves for years. “If that wasn’t bad enough, they piled limbs all over the graves,” she said. “There is a grave marker for Jesse Butler, who was killed in World War I. They knocked it over and just left it lying there.
