Royalty can be found on both sides of the Walsh family. His father, the late Garret H. Walsh Sr. of Zwolle served as the 1977 Tamale Fiesta King and his father-in-law, Dr. Richard J. Oosta, formerly of Zwolle, was King of the 1988 Tamale Fiesta. Walsh’s sister, the late Karen Walsh Rials was Fiesta First Lady in 2007. It’s only natural that Garry Walsh should follow in their footsteps. “I appreciate being named King of the 2015 Tamale Fiesta, Walsh stated; “I am very honored.”
