Remembering When. . .

That old song that Ethel Water used to sing “Summertime, and the living is easy” makes me wonder if the writer knew what he was talking about when he penned those words. Maybe he was thinking about “The lazy bones, sleeping in the shade” fellow that another wrote a song about. I do not believe that the temperatures were as hard to tolerate when I was growing up.
