An inmate at the Sabine Parish Detention Center escaped in the early morning hours of Oct. 20 after getting out of his restraints and running by a deputy that was on his way out of the jail. Mack H. Johnson, Jr., 31, of Many, was awaiting trial for theft and forgery charges when he made his escape around 3:30 a.m. Johnson was able to pull away from the deputy and make it out of the jail.
