Sabine Parish District Attorney Don Burkett is serious about the use of meth and its addiction rates in Sabine Parish, and has decided to spread knowledge through the public. Methamphetamine, commonly referred to as “crystal meth” on the street, is a physically and psychologically addictive central nervous system stimulant, which has many dangerous and potentially lethal short and long-term effects, as well as the possibility of irreversible damage to the body.
