The Many Bass Club held their June Tournament of 2022 on the weekend of June 11 and 12. Summer weather greeted the anglers with high temps in the upper 90’s and light and variable to breezy wind conditions. The water temperatures were in the mid to upper 80’s. The fish were scattered from shallow to deep, and they were caught on a variety of lures and techniques. The big fish were hard to come by. Thirteen anglers fished the tournament and only three five-fish limits were caught and only one double-digit stringer was weighed in.
Glen Swihart caught the winning stringer which weighed 11.39 pounds. Glen reported that his stringer came from the south end of the lake fishing around grass in 3-10 feet of water on soft plastic baits. George Herr placed second with 9.57 pounds. George caught his fish in twelve to fourteen feet of water on finesse worms in the mid-lake area. The third-place angler was Gary West who caught his 9.18-pound stringer fishing soft plastics in grass on the south end of the Lake. Michael Sonnier caught the big fish of the tournament that weighed 4.04 pounds on a shaky head in 20 feet of water in the mid-lake area.
The Club’s Top Six contest continues to be led by Gary West with 73.62 points. George Herr is in second place with 53.03 points, followed by Michael Woods with 51.19 points, Glen Swihart with 51.18 points, Jimmy Campbell with 46.89 points, and David Owens with 41.46.
