The Zwolle Tamale Fiesta organizing committe is pleased to announce that Dorothy Faye Ezaernack has been chosen to represent the fiesta as this year’s first lady.
She is the daughter of the late Joseph William Procell and Sylvia Rivers Procell. She was born and raised in the small village of Ebarb, where she later graduated as a proud Rebel from Ebarb High School in 1963.
Dorothy is married to George Edwin Ezernack and this year they will be celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary. While raising a family, she worked in the community as a teacher’s aide at the St. Joseph’s Catholic School for several years. On November 3, 1975 she and her husband decided to embark on a new career decision for their family and develop Edwin Ezernack and Son’s Logging. Their goal has been to maintain a successful business as well as give back to the community whenever possible. Dorothy served on the very first Zwolle Loggers and Forestry Festival Committee. In addition to the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta, she wanted to help share Zwolle’s great environmental and cultural richness to others and help bring people into the area. She is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zwolle.
Dorothy’s family includes nine children, twenty-one grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. The family would like for her to know that she is their rock and a role model for all. Dorothy has always valued faith, family, and charity. Anyone who knows her can say that she is willing to help without expecting anything in return.
Dorothy’s favorite memories from the previous Zwolle Tamale Fiestas have been attending street dances that occurred in the middle of town, listening to her very own son, Joey Dean, as well as other major music acts from all over the state. She hopes the town of Zwolle will always carry on the tradition of the Fiesta so that families from all over can come together to celebrate. Dorothy would like to thank the Zwolle Tamale
Fiesta Committee for being chosen as the 45th Annual Zwolle Tamale Fiesta First Lady. It is an honor and she hopes to see everyone out the second weekend of October.
