The Tigers were in their preferred position to begin the game, that of kicking off. Trotter Lafollette kicked a bit short and saw the ball ran out of bounds at the 34-yard line. The Tigers forced a quick three and out before Many took two plays when Williams went 44 yards for his first touchdown of the night. The point attempt put the Tigers up 7-0.
