On Thursday, May 30, Police Chief Ray Williams of the Pleasant Hill Police Dept. commended Brayton “Boogie” Brown for saving the life of a young child who was on the side of the road.

“We are having this ceremony to present Brayton with the ‘World’s Best Hero Award’ for saving a life in our small town,” Williams said. “It makes you feel good to have a teen step up and take on a responsibility like this and do something worthwhile.”

At 9 a.m. on May 20, Brown was going to work and getting breakfast from a local store. He went to leave and saw a little girl walking down Highway 174.
