King’s Chapel American Methodist Episcopal Church cordially invites you to their 24th annual Martin Luther King Jr. march and celebration on Monday, January 21. The march will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of MLK and Alabama with the program starting at 11 a.m. at King’s Chapel AMEC. This year’s speaker will be the Rev. Gwendolyn E. Snearl, presiding elder of the Alexandria-Thibodeaux part of the Central North Louisiana Conference.
The Rev. Snearl is the daughter of the late Harry Snearl, who was himself a reverend, and Almeta Jacob Snearl. She is a native of Plaquemine and resides in Baton Rouge. She is the oldest of six children.
The Rev. Snearl received her early education in Iberville Parish and later received a Bachelor of Music Education and a master of science in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, which is now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She has continued her studies at Louisiana State University.
