Funeral Services for Mary Lou Veuleman, 79, of Zwolle were held March 20 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends David Martinez and Bill Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine. She was born Thursday, November 3, 1938 in Dry Prong, and passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry H. and Willie Culpepper Smith; son, Dennis Martinez; great grandsons, Zachary Martinez and Evan Chance; and five brothers. She is survived by her husband, Melvin T. “Doc” Veuleman of Marthaville; daughter, Twanna Suzanne Jones of Lake Charles; sons, David Martinez and wife, Debbie, of Zwolle and Ric Martinez and wife, Sonja, of Crowley; sister, Sue Hare and husband, Dale, of Woodville, Texas; brothers, Bob Smith and wife, Alene, of Greenbrier, Tennessee, Roy Smith of McGregor, Texas, and Bill Smith and wife, Lynn, of DeRidder; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
