Superintendent of Sabine Parish Schools Dr. Sara P. Ebarb is pleased to announce that the district has been selected to receive funding under the Demonstrations Grants for Indian Children Program. The grant is in the amount of $2.9 million over four years and was written by Debra Lee and the instructional staff. The funds will support the Promising Futures Native Youth Community Project (NYCP) and will benefit American Indian students attending Sabine Parish schools. NYCP represents the partnership between the Sabine Parish School Board and the Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb. The overall outcomes of the project are to increase the college and career readiness of Native American students in grades four through 12 in rural Louisiana.
