On September 27, the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department and a number of other agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms; Many Police Department, Louisiana State Police, the Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Tri-Parish Narcotics Task Force began an early-morning round-up of alleged narcotics dealers in the parish. Several groups spread out around Sabine Parish, and as of 9 a.m. that morning, 17 arrests had been made with warrants issued for numerous others.
