The Hemphill Hornet Bass Club awards banquet was on May 19 at ig Mamma’s Seafood Restaurant. Sponsors of the club, local fishing pros, school administrators, parents and family members showed up to join in on the celebration. The club would like to thank Clay Mathis for opening up his restaurant just for this event and serving nearly one hundred people in less than an hour. The fish and shrimp came out hot and delicious to everybody’s satisfaction. Nobody went away hungry. After eating, Tournament Director, Jeff Manous, gave the welcoming speech and the club started the awards ceremony by introducing and recognizing the attending club’s sponsors, First State Bank, Shelby Savings Bank, Farmers Cove RV Park, the Toledo Bend Lake Association, Deep East Texas Electric Co-Op, McGraw Signs, Holly Park Marina, Hemphill Meat and Smokehouse, and BassCashBash’s P.D
