A Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Hwy 120 near Cherry Springs Road on Feb. 13, when a passenger jumped out of the vehicle and discharged a firearm in the direction of the deputy as he ran into a wooded area.
