William Curtis Hardy, Jr., 77, of Ft. Jesup, LA was born February 11, 1949 in Pineville, Rapides, LA to William Curtis Hardy and Dorothy Scott Hardy. He passed away May 23, 2026 in Alexandria, LA.

William, also known by many as WC or Dub, was introduced to the love of his life, Jeri Dianne Carrell in 1976. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. They began their married life in Shreveport, LA and later moved to Ft. Jesup, LA to raise their seven children.

WC retired from G.E. after 30+ years of dedicated service. He and Jeri also ran a lawn care service for 35 years. They always had an extremely large garden where their children learned the value of hard work.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Bishop, Elders Quorum President, and many other callings. He and Jeri served in the temple for many years. His competitiveness in sports, especially basketball, volleyball, and softball were well known. He loved outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, hiking, and swimming. He was a master tactician at games with his children. His storytelling was legendary. He was also a great listener as he enjoyed working with the youth.

WC is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeri C. Hardy of Ft. Jesup, LA; son, Wayne (Kristine) Hardy of Saline, LA; son Shawn (Nadia) Hardy of Bossier City, LA; daughter, Dawn (Raymond) Nope of Overton, TX; son, William Hardy III of Hornbeck, LA; son, Joseph Hardy of Alexandria, LA; son, Jesse (Angeline) Hardy of Ft. Jesup, LA; and son, Kelly (Susan) Hardy of Ft. Jesup, LA; 22 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Ricky (Peggy) Hardy; sisters, Linda (Harold) Compton and Gwen (Lyn) Solly; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by 2 infants; grandson, Maxwell Hardy; parents, William and Dorothy Hardy; sister, Judith Jenell Hardy and father-in-law, Charles Carrell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, 355 S. Capitol St., Many, LA. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2084 Natchitoches Hwy, Many, LA. Internment will be held at the Ft. Jesup cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
