Lillie Bullard (68) was born on October 24, 1957, in Pleasant Hill, LA to Thomas and Mallie Litton, both of Pleasant Hill, LA. After a very short 3-month battle of having multiple embolic strokes due to untreated extremely high blood pressure, she left the hospital incapacitated and never recovered. Lillie succumbed to a heart attack while she was in rehab at Sabine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center in Many, LA, where she was working hard to regain her strength to return home to her family in Belmont.

Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life for 35 years, James Bullard, parents, Thomas and Mallie Litton, all of her siblings—Thomas M. Litton, Jr. “Tom”, Wanda Slay, Charles Ray Litton, and Sherry Lewis—and nephews John Litton and Brandon Binning.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Frankie Bass and wife, Kelly, grandson, Joshua Bass, granddaughter, Katy Bass, nieces Angie Taylor (Alex), Stephanie Slay, Connie Brown (Steve), Kimberly Roundy (Anthony), Paula Smith (Justin), Cassie Mann (Eddie), Shelly Rivers (Jarrad), Mary James (Micah), and Brooke Lewis and one nephew Beau Litton (Emily). In addition, she had a host of great nieces and nephews that she cherished with all her heart and many, many extended family and friends.

Lillie lived a worthy life, gaining admiration and respect as a kind, humble, and devoted wife, mother, “Granny” to her only two grandchildren, daughter, sister, and dear friend to many. Lillie started her work career as a secretary at the hospital in Coushatta, LA and later transitioned to working up the ladder at SARC in Many, LA for 33 years, where the majority of those years she served as the group home manager for the #4 home. She had the experience of caring for many clients, some of which passed long before her, and they all loved to call her “Momma Lillie.” One client, in particular, John Celestine, she shared her entire career with; he was like a son to her. Although he held a special place in her heart, she was renowned for the care and compassion she provided to all her clients, and she is remembered for her dedication and commitment to providing them with the best home possible. She will be truly missed by many but mostly, by the ones she called family.

Serving as pallbearers to honor Lillie’s life on this earth are cousin Timmy Cooper, nephews Steve Brown and Beau Litton, great-nephews Tyler Brown and Collin Brown, and very special friends Jeffery Sepulvado, Doug Howard, and Gary Prudhome. Additional honorary pallbearers are Tim Goodwin, Jarrad Rivers, and six very special men whom Lillie helped care for at SARC—John Celestine, Luther Wilson, Frank Church, Gleason Jackson, Eric Manning, and Willie Turner.

Services for Lillie will be held at Old Pisgah Baptist Church in Marthaville, LA with interment following at Spring Ridge Baptist Church cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dean Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. for family and 4:00 p.m. for the public.

The family wishes to thank Warren Meadows Funeral Home for services provided, Dixie Stems for floral arrangements, Ross Cemetery Services for graveside services, and lastly, her Sabine Retirement and Rehab nurses and personnel for the love, care, and compassion shown to Lillie in her last days on this earth.
