Tom Leggett, Jr., better known as “Buster”, was born on March 2, 1956 in Shreveport, LA. He passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and I day, in Dalton GA surrounded by family.
Buster grew up in the Shiloh Community in Sabine Parish LA. As a young man he worked with his father as an auto Mechanic in Mansfield LA. Years later he worked in South Louisiana in the ship yards cleaning tanker ships. His last job was working in Montana as an Overseer on a ranch. He was a jack of all trades. When his health was good he loved to go hunting and fishing.
Buster wasn’t blessed with any biological children but when he married Laura, she had 3 children, and he got to be a part of their lives. Then he was able to enjoy years of being a Papaw to all of the grandbabies.
Buster was preceded in death by his parents; Tommy Gene and Helen Methvin Leggett. Two brothers; Alex Ray and Jerry Wayne Leggett, and I sister; Laverne Leggett. Also preceded by 1 grandson; Ethan Allgor.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 22 years, Laura Leggett and her 3 children; 2 daughters; Ashley (William) Allgor and their children, Jay’Lynn (Bubba) and baby Destiny Maggette, Hannah,Izzy, and Hunter Allgor all of Dalton, GA. Amanda Leggett and her 2 children Savannah and Dakota of Louisiana. And 1 son Jason (Alicia) Weeks and their 2 children Mary and Malachi also of Dalton, GA. He is also survived by a Sister- in-law Katrina Brown and two special nephews, Sterling and Styler Brown of Dalton, GA.
He also leaves behind 2 sisters; Diane (Harvey) Brown of Belmont, LA, and Carol Jean Remedies of Zwolle, LA. One brother; Carl Leggett of Moses Lake, WA. One Uncle; Jr. Methvin of Pineville, LA, and one Aunt; Lou Mc-Comic of Many, LA. Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service for him in October during their annual Leggett family reunion.
