A Memorial Service for Lewis A McBryde, Jr. will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM with visitation starting at 11:00 AM until time of service at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, Louisiana with Rev. Marshall Ingle and Rev. Cyle Clayton officiating.

Lewis A. McBryde, Jr. was born to Lewis A. Mc-Bryde, Sr. and Mary Estelle Chambers McBryde on June 30, 1946, in Somerville, Tn. He was a graduate of Germantown High School in Tn, Dyersburg State Community College in Dyersburg, Tn. and McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La. He was a wonderful man who was a great husband and father who always put his family above everything else. He worked for South Central Bell/BellSouth for thirty- one years before retiring and beginning his second profession, real estate. He became a Broker and opened McBryde & Associates Realty in 1999.

Lewis lived and worked many places in the South and was always involved in many activities in his community (coaching sports, church youth volunteer, & civic organizations), but no other place felt more like home to him than Sabine Parish. Lewis truly lived the Rotary Club Motto: “Service Above Self”. He loved working with others to improve his community. He was an almost 40-year member of the Rotary Club of Many, serving on its Board of Directors and as President three times. He was a charter member of the Sabine Parish Communication District, bringing 911 services to the parish. He was on the Sabine Parish Chamber of Commerce board and served as President three times. At the time of his death, he was on the Parish Economic Development Committee serving as Membership Chairman. He served on the Board of the Sabine Council On Aging during the years that a tax was passed, and two new facilities were opened – the Legacy building in Many and the Toledo Town Meal Site. He was a member of and served as President of both the Many and Florien Lions Clubs and served on the Boards of the Sabine Parish Animal Shelter and the Toledo Bend Lake Association. He was a Charter Member of the Sabine Parish Players Theatre Group, Telephone Pioneers, and was Chairman of the March of Dimes Sabine Parish Walk for ten years. He enjoyed these activities very much, but none as much as the years he worked covering Sabine Parish basketball for the Sabine Index Newspaper and being in his garden growing anything and everything.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frankie McBryde, his daughter and son- in -law, Amy and Greg Henry of Sulphur, La, son and daughter- in -law Lewis McBryde III and Robin of Pineville, La, and grandchildren Cameron Henry and wife Charlotte of Lake Charles, La, Laney Henry, also of Lake Chares, La., and Kaitlyn McBryde of Lafayette, La. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters-in- laws Patricia Gillespie of Memphis, Tn. And Marsha Blackwood of Millington, Tn. He also leaves behind nine beloved nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren, and first cousins in several States.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made In memory of Lewis to the Rotary club of Many, P.O. Box 994, Many, La 71449, or the charity, church, or organization of your choice.

The family wishes to thank the loving caretakers at Many Healthcare and Rehab and Superior Hospice for their support and care.
