Robert Lynn “Bob” Brown passed away May 2, 2025, at 78 years old in Negreet, Louisiana, surrounded by his family. Bob was born on December 16, 1946, in Many, Louisiana.

Bob worked in the oil field, he worked for Boise Cascade, and he was also a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years. Since 1986, he has worked for the R.J. Lucius estate. He loved his job managing timber and all that it entailed. He especially enjoyed working with Mrs. Cecile Lites, whom he respected and loved.

Bob had a passion for animals and woodworking. He raised cattle and was a world-class showman at a young age. Bob spent much of his life in his shop, his happy place, doing woodworking, welding, fabricating, and making beautiful cedar swings for his family and friends. Bob cherished gatherings with loved ones and held an annual picnic every November at Toledo Bend Lake.

He never met a stranger and loved sitting on the porch drinking coffee with his friends. He and his wife, Joyce, shared a fulfilling life together, relishing each other’s company. They enjoyed gardening, hunting, trapping, raising chickens, cooking, and simply holding hands, often sharing a Coke every night before bed. Bob never missed an opportunity to watch rodeos or old westerns on TV.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brown of 31 years; his sister, Mary Helen Lee; and their five children: Joey Brown and wife Carrie, C.J. Brown and wife Rachel, Peggy Sparks and husband Pete, Melanie Malley and husband Jeff, and Nathan Jenkins and wife Jenny. They have 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, James and Estelle Brown, his brother-inlaw, Larry Lee, and his grandson, Stephen Rogers.

A viewing will be held at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, on Friday, May 9th from 6 pm-9 pm. The funeral services will be held at 2 pm on May 10th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 2084 Natchitoches Hwy. There will be an additional viewing from 12:30 pm- 1:45 pm preceding the memorial service. Bob will be interned at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
