Tenille Jenkins, who serves in the Office of Public Health at the Sabine Parish Health Unit, has been working with the VA Hospital in Shreveport to begin a coalition in the area to help increase awareness and hopefully prevent suicide in the local veteran population.
She is looking for volunteers to participate such as community leaders, business owners, clergy, mental health professionals, healthcare workers, veterans, families of veterans, current service members, and interested persons.
There will be monthly meetings and the coalition will offer education at local events.
