The 2025 Accomplishment Award winner for the Sabine Hall of Fame is Tylen Singleton, an LSU Tiger and former Many Tiger, whose work and practice ethic earned him star status in High School football and a place on one of the nation’s top college ball teams. He will be honored, along with others, on Tuesday, March 25, at the VFW Hall at 1738 San Antonio Ave. in Many. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets and tables will be on sale soon.

Tylen was born Oct. 5, 2004, in Alexandria. He is the youngest son of Christy Butler and the stepson of the late Sammy Butler. He is a brother to Kurtlyn Cain, Jalen Singleton and LynleiButler. His grandparents are George Cain and the late Mary Cain.

Sports have been a longtime interest of Tylen’s with football being his favorite. He participated in athletics from early in life. Tylen started playing football in the Sabine Parish Football League and loved it since then. His athletic performance was recognized in Junior High during his formative years, where his athletic abilities were not limited to football, but he also excelled in track. He competed in 4x4 events, among other competitions, which motivated him to work hard, practice, always be prepared to be competitive on the field and to know his plays. He soon found his area of expertise and motivation. He shared that his experience with volunteer youth football has been a great asset to his training and experience.

Tylen is a strong, but versatile football player who settled into his position as linebacker to lead his team. In his Freshman year playing football for Many High School, he helped Many earn a Championship win, where he received MVP at the Championship Game, evidence of his skill and tenacity as a player. Early in his High School ball career, he displayed the skill and ability to make a major difference in game outcomes.

During Tylen’s Sophomore year he repeated his performance on the field to lead the Many Tigers team to earn the title of State Runner-up. He was recognized for his performance at the playoffs by receivingthe 1st Team All District Defense Back Award. He was a vital part of the winning team and maintained a high level of performance on the field.

In his Junior year,

Tylen played his position superbly as he had the two previous years. His efforts and skill helped Many capture another State Championship win. His accolades that year included the the LFCA & LSWA All-State Award and 1st Team All District Defense Back Award. His superior accomplishments indicated the chance for a great future in sports.

In Tylen’s Senior year, he continued with star performance on the field, helping the Many Tigers win the District Championship. He was awarded the LFCA & LSWA 1st Team All State Defense Back Award, Additionally, he received the district 3 (2A) Offensive MVP Award and 1st Team All District 3(2A) Defense Back Award. He was recognized by his hometown with the Town of Many Athletic Rising Star Award. During his Freshman year at LSU, 2024-25, he played in four games on Special Teams against Florida, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma and in the Texas Bowl against Baylor in Houston. These games were a wonderful introduction to the collegiate experience on the field where all his work and training were put into play.

Not only is Tylen a great ball player, but his academics are very strong, making him a standout among college football recruits. Of his offers, he selected LSU, opting to leave Many High School a few months early. He completed credit requirements and enrolled at Louisiana State University in January 2024. There he focused on his Business studies, additional football training, and playing football for the LSU Tigers. It was a major milestone for both his football career and preparation to become a business owner.

Tylen begins his sophomore year with high goals and expectations. He continues his Business Administration studies, maintaining an impressive grade point average and constantly preparing for the upcoming football season, his second with the LSU Tigers.

On the personal side, Tylen is a mild-mannered young man who is completely devoted to his family and close friends. He is thoughtful and focused on the important things he desires out of life. He was raised as a Baptist and is now active at a church in Zachary, where he is content and eager to be a part of the church community. He also enjoys visiting with players back home sharing his experiences in football. He is clearly a role model for them and others whom he meets through sports.

Tylen Singleton will be honored at the Sabine Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Tuesday, March 25, at the VFW Post Hall, at 1738 San Antonio Ave. in Many. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The sale of tickets and tables starts soon.

Spiritual Awakening, Parade set for April 5

The Zwolle Ministerial Association is proud to present a Spiritual Awakening and Parade event on April 5 at the Zwolle Festival Grounds, which will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
