The 1,000 Books before Kindergarten initiative is going strong at the Sabine Parish Library.
Children who are read to at an early age are more successful in school. If a parent reads just one book a day with the child, the goal of 1,000 books will be reached in less than three years.
Joining the program by completing 100 books were the following: Lily Berry, daughter of Joshua and Olivia Berry of Many; Jace McComic, son of Jacob and Valerie McComic of Many; Hoyt Thaxton, son of Evan and Samantha Ezernack of Pleasant Hill; and Adalynn and Rylee Craig, daughters of Brandon and Nicole Craig of Converse.
Completing 500 books was Issac Jett, son of Joseph Jett and Krisie Mclain and Luke Berry of Many, son of Joshua and Olivia Berry of Many.
Completing the program by reading 1,000 books were Demi Sepulvado, daughter of Wesley and Courtney Sepulvado of Zwolle and Liam Berry, son of Joshua and Olivia Berry of Many. Congratulations to these two!
