Barbara Ellzey, 76, was born in Many, La on December 18, 1947 and passed away peacefully at her home on December 6, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hiram Monroe Salter and Luvinia Chism Salter, sons: Preston Ellzey, Shelton Ellzey, and grandson Justin Ellzey.

She is survived by son Jason Ellzey, wife Kayla, daughter Dawn Hippler, husband Darren. Seven grandchildren, Adam Hippler, wife Skyler, Walker Hippler, wife Nelia, Harley Ellzey, Indie Ellzey, Ollin Ellzey, Lorielle Hill, and Savannah Ellzey, Great granddaughters Teagan and Emmalyn Hippler, and brothers Jim Salter and Carroll Salter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her as well.

Barbara recently retired from Wal-Mart after working for 23 years. She loved her job. She always had a smile and enjoyed visiting with people she knew from time to time. She loved to play the piano and still played occasionally after all these years. She loved to play the hymns, but her favorite was a melody titled “Black Hawk Waltz”. She served as a pianist at Plainview Baptist Church for a period of time.

She loved her Bible. One scripture she often spoke of was I Corinthians 13:12.

“For now, I see only a reflection as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully as I am fully known.”

Even though we don’t understand, we know she was reunited with those who have gone on before her.

We are confident that when she closed her eyes in death, she opened them in Heaven and oh what a sight that must have been! Her faith has been made sight.
