Funeral services celebrating the life of Marguerite Lovelady will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Hayward Hossler and Rev. Chuck Lusk officiating, with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM for family and 9:30 AM for friends at Oak Hill Baptist Church.
Marguerite “Greet” Tarpley Lovelady (96) was born on September 8, 1928, in Many, LA. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 8, 2024, at her home in Many, LA.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Tarpley and Delma Alford Tarpley, her husband, Edward “H.E.” Lovelady, daughter Helen Sloan, grandson Dewayne Lovelady, and her siblings—Clyde Tarpley, Willie Mae Leone, Howard Tarpley, Bobby Tarpley, Wayne Tarpley, and Floyd Tarpley.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Rose “Sissy” (Don)Leroy of Gladewater, TX and her children— Patricia Lovitt of Athens, LA, Ronnie Lovelady (Twyla) of Many, LA, Nina Dickson (Jimbo) of Many, LA, Paul Lovelady (Sandy) of Zwolle, LA, and Rachael Ponder (Donnie) of Marshall, TX, in addition to a large host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Marguerite’s beloved grandsons—Spencer Lovitt, Tracey Lovitt, Jimmy Dickson, Dustin Lovelady, Kyle “Man” Lovelady, Branson Dickson, Damian Dickson, and Matt Lovelady. Additional honorary pallbearers are Michael Dickson, Ronnie Ponder, Eli Dickson, Gavin Dickson, Joshua Bass, Nick Lovelady, Hunter Lovelady, Jacob “J.P.” Lovelady, and Tyler Anderson.
