The Many Bass Club held its June Tournament on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. The anglers could choose to fish either Saturday or Sunday. Ten anglers fished the tournament and six of them landed five-fish limits. Saturday’s weather was hot with highs in the mid-nineties and breezy. Sunday was similar with hot and breezy conditions continuing. Water temps were in the upper seventies warming throughout the day into the eighties. The bite was good, but big fish were hard to come by for the club. Most of the fish were caught on shad related post spawn tactics and many of the fish were caught deeper this month. There was however a shallow bite as well for those anglers that chose to go shallow. The top three stringers and Big Fish were all caught Saturday.
Congratulations to Jason Timmons who won the tournament with an 11.18-pound stringer that also included the big fish of the tournament that weighed 2.99 pounds. Jason caught his fish in the mid lake area, chasing deeper fish with drop shots and crankbaits. Michael Sonnier caught the second-place stringer which weighed 11.12 pounds on drop shots in the mid-lake area. James Edwards finished third and had a 9.5-pound stringer that was caught on senko’s and spinnerbaits also in the mid-lake area.
James Edwards continues to build his lead in the Club’s 2024 Angler of the Year Race with 84.68 points. Gary West moved into second place with 73.81 points, followed by Terry Hotard in third with 63.71 points, Jason Timmons in fourth with 57.33 points, George Herr in fifth with 55.81 points, Michael Woods in sixth with 51.63 points, Jimmy Campbell in seventh with 50.1 points, and Gary Moore in eighth with 47.36 points.
Congratulations to the winners!
