Funeral services for Betty Browning, 78, of Florien were held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Cenchrea Church of the Nazarene with Rev. James Philen and Rev. Matt Warren officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Betty Browning was born on Monday, October 12, 1942 in Many. She passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Many Health Care North in Many.
Betty was a wife to Elvis Browning for 50+ years, a mother to their two sons, a homemaker and also worked in her earlier years as an LPN for Dr. Mitchell. Later in life, she and Elvis built poultry houses and lived their life on their farm in the Peason Community.
She loved all her grandchildren and was so proud of their accomplishments. Her daughter in laws were special as well. Her rock was Tonya who cared for her on a daily basis. She was the oldest sister of a very close-knit family. They all had spent time and cared for her in the last year. Many nieces, nephews and friends loved her as well referring to her as “Auntie Bet”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis Browning; parents, Evon R. and Vernie (Weldon) Thaxton; nephew, Jason Thaxton; and her brother, Gerald Wayne Thaxton.
She is survived by her sons, Brad Browning and wife Tonya of Florien; Terry Browning and wife Brenda of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; sisters, Helen Ellzey and husband Carroll of Florien; Ruth Sparks and husband Dennis of Florien; and Gwenda Sepulvado and husband Joe Pat of Florien; brothers, Charlie Ray Thaxton and wife Patsy of Florien; John David Thaxton and wife Glenda of Many; Doug Thaxton and wife Louise of Florien; sister-in-law, Evon Thaxton of Florien; grandchildren, Tanner Browning; Brady Browing; Britnee Dixon; Braydin; Colin Browning; Rachel Hayes and husband Dylan; and Grace Browning; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers: Aaron Sparks, Justin Sepulvado, Tanner Browning, Brady Browning, Colin Browning, Cody Ellzey, Brandon Jones, Willie Jones and Dylan Hayes.
