Bettye Cabra was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Heaven became a little bit sweeter on April 25, 2021, when she passed from this life at the age of 82.
She was born to Thomas Leffie and Vallie Mae Strahan on February 24, 1939. After graduating from high school, Bettye followed her heart and married the love of her life, her husband, Barney Ray Cabra on January 17, 1958. Together, they created a beautiful life and wonderful family.
Bettye is survived by her daughters, Tanya Patton and husband, Brice Patton of Many; Cindy Craig and husband, Ken Craig of Many; brother, Paul Strahan and wife Sandra of Silsbee, Texas; sisters, Joan Kowalski of Silsbee, Texas; Judy Keith of Johnson City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Genesis Costner and husband, Rev. Jeremy of Many; Lillie Havens and husband Zach of Many; James Jackson of Many; Betsy Havens and husband, Joshua of Shelbyville, Kentucky; Abbey Jackson of Many; and Sari Jackson of Johnson City, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Jonah and Ashton Costner; Benjamin and Brooklyn Havens; Lucy Kate and Eleanor Havens; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, Barney; daughter, Hannah Cabra Jackson, sisters, Dahlia Lewis and Nell Palmer.
Bettye loved her family, neighbors, and church dearly. She served as a Pastor’s wife for Evening Light Tabernacle of Many for 50 years. She was treasured by many and will be greatly missed. Even during her time in the retirement center - she was known for her kindness and heart warming smile.
Her funeral services were held on April 27, 2021 at Evening Light Tabernacle in Many. Service was officiated by Rev. Jeremy Costner and Jeff Evans.
