Funeral services for Naive Elhage , 71, of Marthaville, were held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Old Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Johnson officiating.

Naive Michael Elhage was born on Saturday, June 11, 1949 in Fulton, New York. He passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at his residence in Marthaville.

Naive Elhage was a former member of CMA, a lifetime member of the VFW/DAV, Friend of Rebel State Historic Site and a longtime supporter of the March of Dimes. He served as a medic in the United States Navy, he served 4 years (4 tours to Vietnam) with a ranking of E5 on the USS Southerland. He received many Decorations, Medals and Badges: The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star. He served as Treasurer for the Sabine Chapter #21 Disabled American Veterans and an honorary member of the DAV Chapter 21. Naive spent time volunteering at nursing homes, local and beyond.

He was preceded in death by his father, Naive Anton Elhage; brother, Gerard Elhage; nephew, Jacob Wood; and his grandson, Joseph Elhage.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Elhage of Marthaville; mother, Shirley Waloven of Snowhill, North Carolina; sons, Timothy Elhage of Washington; Adem Elhage of Clarksville, Arkansas; daughter, Alisson Davis of DeRidder; step-children, Stanley Shoemaker and wife Angela of Coushatta; Christy Cosenza and husband Andy of Marthaville; Callie Jacobs and husband Joe of Pleasant Hill; sisters, Christine Hunter and husband Ernie of Kingston, Ontario Canada; Joanne Weldin and husband Marvin of Fulton, New York; Linda Johnson and husband BJ of Snowhill, North Carolina; brother, Mark Elhage and significant other Kerrianna of Fayetteville, New York; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
