A celebration of life for Reverend Johnnie Glenn Flenniken was held at Trinity Baptist Church, Many, ny Louisiana of October 5, 2020 at Trinity Baptist en Church with Rev. Wayne Chance, Rev. Rickey Robertson in and Rev. Doug Chance officiating. Graveside service followed at Ft. Jesup Cemetery in Ft. Jesup. 2, Reverend Flenniken was born on August 24, 1933

Reverend Flenniken was born on August 24, 1933 in Sabine Parish. He went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2020 at his residence in Natchitoches. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Natchitoches. He grew up in Many where he graduated from Many High School. Upon graduation he entered the military where he proudly served 6 1/2 years. After his time in service he enjoyed a 40-year career which included owning his own service station for 10 years and working for Valley Electric for 30 years with the last 4 as general manager. The labor that was most dear to his heart was his Ministry of the Gospel. Reverend Flenniken surrendered to the ministry in 1959 and attended Seminary at Louisiana College. He pastored 18 churches and touched so many lives with his wife Truey by his side. His hobbies included spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, gardening and people watching at Walmart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Truey Jordan Flenniken of Natchitoches; daughters, Charlotte Miller and husband Johnny of Many; Pam Larned and husband John of Natchitoches; Sonya Parks and husband Kevin of Marthaville; son, Stanley Flenniken and wife Anita of Natchitoches. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild on the way. Also, he is survived by his precious sister, Imogene Flenniken Jordan and husband Billy of Alexandria; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Wilson Flenniken and Josie Rhodes Flenniken; siblings, Thomas Euland Flenniken; Christine Flenniken Causey; and grandchild Landon Lane McConathy Parks.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Johnny Miller, Jason Miller, Stanley Flenniken, Jeremy Flenniken, Kevin Parks, Tristan Graves, Layton Parks and John Larned. Honorary pallbearers were Josh Jenkins, Clint Miller, Connor Winn, Kayden Rhodes, Zack Pearson, Tyler Pearson, Timothy Pearson.

The family extends sincere gratitude to Natchitoches Regional Hospital, Dr. Ingram and Dr. Branun.
