The Fort Jesup Society of the Children of the American Revolution met on Saturday, September 19. Mr. Rocky Wright was guest speaker. His topic was the plan for a State Historical Marker to be placed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Zwolle to commemorate the three Torres brothers that fought and died in World War II. Verification by LSU of the documentation is pending. These siblings are thought to be from the only family in Louisiana that had 3 or more siblings that fought and died during World War II.
