More than six million young people across the country today will be celebrating National 4-H Week, which takes place annually during the first full week of October. Sabine Parish 4-H leverages National 4-H Week to celebrate the great things that the 4-H youth development program offers young people and highlights the incredible 4-H young people who each day work to a make a positive impact on their community. On Wednesday, Oct. 2, Many mayor Ken Freeman signed a proclamation declaring 4-H Week for the local area. Over 20 junior leaders, parents and volunteers came out for the signing of the proclamation. Promoting 4-H in Sabine Parish is a very important job, because area kids want skills to succeed in areas that are not always offered in a contained educational setting.
