Principal of Pleasant Hill High School Jerrad Rivers has been selected as a semi-finalist for Louisiana Principal of the Year after being selected Sabine Parish’s Principal of the Year for the 2019- 2020 school year. Each year, school districts across Louisiana nominate outstanding teachers and principals to the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) for recognition through the Louisiana Teacher and Principal of the Year program.
After nominations are complete, the LDOE selects 24 semi-finalists in both the teacher and principal category from over 200 nominations submitted by school districts. Candidates for principal of the year are selected based on their ability to demonstrate excellence in the educational field; demonstrate leadership and innovation that helps students and teachers be successful; collaborate with stakeholders to foster student and teacher success; and create a school culture of respect and achievement.
