Funeral services for Raymond Welch, 79, of Pleasant Hill were held on January 25, 2020 at Blue Ridge Methodist Church with Rev. Glynn Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Spring Ridge Cemetery.
Raymond Welch was born on Friday, September 27, 1940 in Leesville. He passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Goldie Welch; sister, Avis Welch; brothers, Linell Welch and Johnnie Welch; grandchildren, Chasity Welch and River Pritchard; and son-in-law, Garland Powell. Raymond loved his family and farming also playing guitar and making music with his father, brothers and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine Welch of Pleasant Hill; children: Anita Welch Powell of Marthaville, Ronald and Dawn Welch of Grand Prarie, Texas, Rusty and Brandi Welch of Pleasant Hill, Rodney Welch of Pleasant Hill, Marty and LeeAnna Welch of Florien, and Haley Welch and John Pritchard of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren: Amanda and Josh Clark of Marthaville, James Welch, Emily Welch, Ariel Welch, Megan Welch, Jacey Browning, Winter Browning, Riley Browning, Draven Ebarb and Ethan Welch, Hannah Jennings, Cameron Jennings, Abigail Delgado, Zachary Malmay, Michigan Foy, Kailee Hedges, Brice Foy and Katherine Bennett; great grandchildren: Bella Clark and Jesse Clark; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

His grandchildren and great grandchildren will be the honorary pallbearers: James Welch, Jacey Browning, Winter Browning, Riley Browning, Draven Ebarb, Bella Clark, Jesse Clark, Ethan Welch, Ariel Welch and Megan Welch.
