Research for the Toledo Bend/Zwolle Historical Museum will be ongoing for the next year.
Wanda Rivers Williams of the Sabine Parish Tourist Commission, working with assistance from the Sabine River Authority and other volunteers, is learning to compile information on the estimated 200 families on the Louisiana side of Toledo Bend that lost their homes and land for the development of the lake. The Tourist Commission plans to host a Louisiana Down Under Reunion in the spring of 2020 and display the information, plus utilize this research in the displays and illustrations in the museum to honor these families.
