Inetta Smith Campbell, 94, died on June 17, 2019. She was born in Comanche County, Texas, on January 30, 1925. She was the oldest child of Walter W. and Fay Vancleave Smith.

Services were held at Bayou Scie United Methodist Church on June 21 with the Rev. Richard Hooton officiating. Interment followed at Bayou Scie Cemetery.

Mrs. Campbell was a graduate of Sidney High School and attended Draughon’s Business School. In 1944, she moved to Orange, Texas, where she was employed as a secretary by American Bridge Shipyard. There she met and married her husband of 61 years, Barney Campbell. Other places of employment included Orange Independent School District Tax Office, and Ramsey-Kantz, (a structural steel fabrication plant). She retired from Nelda C. and H. J. Lutcher Stark Enterprises in 1978, after 20 years of service.

She was a member and Past President of the Pilot Club of Orange, Texas, and an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women.

After retirement, she and Barney moved to Louisiana and settled in the Bayou Scie Community in Sabine Parish, near Zwolle. They enjoyed many years of traveling, camping with friends and square dancing. She was a member and Past President of the Pilot Club of Many, and an active member of Bayou Scie Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by brother, J. P. Smith of Salisbury, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Thelma Biegert and husband Max of Phoenix, Arizona; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Jamie Baker, Rodney Campbell, Lindsey Rivers, Mike Gunter, Thurman Webb, Wayne Lehr, and David Gayer.
