Services to honor the life of Ira Cochran, Jr. were held on December 27 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Marthaville. Burial followed at Marthaville Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
Ira Cochran, Jr., 82 years of age and a resident of Marthaville, passed away on December 25, 2018, in Natchitoches. He was born to Ira J. Cochran, Sr. and Ethel Rivers Cochran Peacock on November 24, 1936.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Harold Peacock; and sisters, Ima Jean Rawls and Gaylynn Hayes.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Smith Cochran; children, Tony D. Cochran and wife Shirley, Gregory A. Cochran and wife, Deborah, and Cheryl Cochran Rodriguez and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Kristin Tolar, Eric Cochran, Laura Barlow, Emily Cochran, Jill Jamal-Hanjani, Tatum Powell, Joseph Cochran, Anissa Hernandez, Sara Rodriguez, and U.S. Army Specialist, Alexander Rodriguez; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
