Funeral services honoring the life of Theda Mitchell, 84, were held November 7 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, with the Reverends Bruce Mitchell and Richard Hale officiating. Burial followed at Warren Cem-etery in Fisher. Theda was born December 3, 1933 in Fisher, to John and Zarah Law Hayes and entered into rest on November 3, 2018. She graduated from Universi-ty of Southwestern Louisiana and taught for 25 years for the DeSoto Parish schools. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield. She was a wonderful sister, mother, grand-mother, friend, and teacher to many.Preceding Theda in death were her parents; husband, E.J. Mitch-ell; and brothers, James Hayes and Bobby Hayes. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry K. Mitchell of Grand Cane, and Elwin C. Mitchell of Bossier City; daugh-ters, Brenda Gayle Mitchell of Mansfield, and Sandra Annette Hale and husband, Scott, of Natchitoches; sisters, Lolette Elaine Mitchell of Robeline, and Agatha Sue Ashby and husband, Jim, of Blanchard; grandchildren, J.R. Mitchell, John Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, Kellye Speer, Matt Hale, Joe Hale, and Amy Hale; and five great grandchildren.Honoring Theda as pallbearers were Jason Speer, Matt Hale, Andy Mitchell, J.R. Mitchell, Joe Hale, and John Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell and Scott Hale.
