Funeral services honoring the life of Bernice Ross Freeman Williams, 92, were held January 28 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield with the Rev. Beth Sentell officiating. Burial followed at Rockdale Cemetery. She was born on June 12, 1925 to James and Eula Ross, and entered into rest on January 26, 2018. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her two children, Silas Jefferson “Jeff” Freeman; second husband, G.R. Williams; parents; her sisters, Evelyn Ross, Katherine Derrick, Alma Edwards, and Mable Ross; and brothers, E.C. Ross, Cecil “Doc” Ross, and William “Bill” Ross. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Beth Freeman Roblow and husband, Kenneth, of Shreveport and Rebecca Stephens and husband, Hugh, of Georgia; sisters, Gladys Boice of Shreveport, Dean Corley of Many, and Charlsie Wright of Baton Rouge; brother, Allen “Tink” Ross of Many; grandchildren, Christy Roblow Dickmeyer of Shreveport, Jeffery Roblow and girlfriend, Jodie Gutkowski, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Casey M. Stephens and wife, Keri, of Georgia; great grandchildren, Matthew Simmons of Shreveport, Skyler Johnson and husband, Joseph, of Keithville, and Harper G. Stephens of Georgia; great-great grandchildren, Amberly and Noah Simmons, Jason, Leo, and Kol Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Honoring her as pallbearers were Jeffery Roblow, Matthew Simmons, Mike Melton, Mikey Smith, Greg Ross and Jimmy Stephens.
